I'm Addicted...

...to blogs I love.

I have been browsing new ways to gain exposure for my blog melanoma blog and I have come to the conclusion that there are a lot of really awesome blogs out there. Seriously. I have laughed more in the last week while staring at the computer than ever. (And yes, those laughs cause my boyfriend to look at me like I'm officially loosing it.) These girls are funny. And honest.

This brings me to my next topic at hand: How do they have so much free time to write such awesome posts? Man! I'm envious! Between that silly thing called work, my private life, writing for Everyday Health and keeping my melanoma blog readers happy--and my mind clear--I'm all out of time! I know that sharing my journey with melanoma is my number 1 priority; however, sometimes I want to talk about something ridiculous like......pizza.
 Yum.

OK, I don't know. But here are some great sites for you to check out.

Dreams Coming True

OK, I am pretty much the worst at keeping up with this blog. I have so many things I would love to write about on this blog if I didn't have a full-time job. However, I have bills, and in order to pay bills, I must work the fun 8-5 job...such is life, right?

You know how I talked about wanting to find out if I could write professionally? Well, we will still see, but I have started blogging (and getting paid to blog!) for Everyday Health. They found my melanoma blog about a month ago and asked if I would be interested in contributing 10 articles a month. It's just something small, but it is a starting point, and I could not be more proud.

Dreams are coming true, friends.

What Would YOU Do?

A new year brings new resolutions, or for some of us, old resolutions that we still have not completed. Although a few days behind schedule, I am pondering my 2012 resolution list. Should I go to the gym more often (OK, let's face it, I never go to the gym.), should I cut out caffeine and junk food completely? Should I promise to be more patient with my sweet boyfriend? I already know of the things I will do without a doubt: battle melanoma with a smile on my face, love those in my life even more than I already do, be a loyal daughter, a spunky friend, and a hardworking employee.

However, I saw the above image on the oh-so-addicting (think of the male in your life and his Xbox) website Pinterest, and began thinking. What would I do if I knew I would not fail?

I think I would write. Not in just an online blog that my family and friends read, but in a way that changes the lives of others. I may only be 24, but I have thoughts that I have a burning desire to share with others. I don't talk much, despite what my boyfriend may say, but give me a pen and pencil, and I will keep you reading.

There you have it, my friends, my 2012 resolution: find time to write something that deserves to be read.
